Beginning as a sketchbook study for a tattoo, the addition of a light source quickly gave rise to abstraction and a language of shapes. Framed in custom box frames, they are rendered in graphite on textural mulberry paper, and lit from behind. The ability to switch the light and and off creates a variable viewing experience.
